Using the Offline Scanner

How to verify customer claims without an internet connection.

The RevYoMe Scanner is a Progressive Web App (PWA) designed to work anywhere, even in basements or areas with poor cellular reception.

Installation

You do not need to download an app from the App Store.

  1. Navigate to /scanner on your mobile device.
  2. Tap the Share button (iOS) or Menu button (Android).
  3. Select Add to Home Screen.

How Verification Works

Our verification system uses ECDSA Cryptography. This means the QR code itself contains the proof of validity. The scanner does not need to check with the server to know if a code is valid.

Steps to Verify:

  • Open the Scanner app.
  • Tap "Scan Code".
  • Point your camera at the customer's phone.
  • Green Checkmark: Valid Claim. You can give the reward.
  • Red X: Invalid or Expired Claim.
Note: While verification works offline, you must connect to the internet periodically (once a day) to sync redemption data back to your dashboard.
